Looking to do an addition. How do they typically charge? % of project cost? SF? And not just drafting something up, actually designing something more interesting than I could come up with myself. TIA. (In Louisiana)

Last time I used one was about 5-6 years ago and the rate was between $.75 to $1.00 per square foot.
That square foot charge is for total and not just living. Garages and porches count towards the total bill.

Last time I used one, they charged $1.25 per total sqft to adjust existing plans. $2.50 per to start from scratch.
