What's the difference between gay and siblings/1st cousin marriage rights?

Should not two consenting adults be allowed to marry? Mississippi may get revenge on them damn Yankees forcing same sex unions. How do think New York's gonna like having to honor our backwards arse marriages?

This country will say they are protecting potential children. But considering the abortion laws, it seems rather hypocritical to use that excuse.

First cousins/siblings having children presents a high likelihood for health problems. Gay couples don't have this problem.

I get where you are going with this. I don't agree with the recent legalization by SCOTUS or incestuous marriage (sorry Alabama). That being said if they are concerned about birth defects why are women over 40 allowed to have children? It has been proven the chance for birth defects rises dramatically at that age. Maybe they should outlaw having children to that segment of the population if that is the basis for their argument. I don't see how any other argument holds water to keep two people who are related from marrying.
And if that is their argument then this.....
