What's the deal with Whiskey Bay and dumping bodies?

I'm watching The Killing Season on A&E and early on it appears more than a couple of serial killers are all dumping their prey on or near a beach on Long Island. It reminded me of the Whiskey Bay area along I10. I'm not familiar with that area, but there appears to be an abnormally high amount of cases/bodies associated with it. Is there something "special" about it that draws these killers there to dump bodies?

Easy on and off interstate and quiet.
But all law enforcement know to start a search there and for the most part they find the bodies.
Well...at least find the ones they are looking for. I'm sure a few have slipped away.

I mean, come on man - you don't have to lose your soul to think like a killer - it's right there off the interstate. Easy peazy, lemon squeesy.
I mean, if you need to get rid of a body - a highly diverse, warm, damp ecosystem that will quickly destroy evidence of your capital crime (meaning the man can kill you for it if he can prove it) - what's not to like?
