What's the deal with these Tuft and Needle mattresses?

I heard about them on here and am intrigued. I've never loved those foam mattresses--granted I've only slept on one a night or 2--but I'm trying to correct a horrible mattress purchase I made previously.
My wife and I must have mattresses shopped for 6 months before finally pulling the trigger. No matter where we went, we kept coming back to this Stearns and Foster we fell in love with. Only problem it was 3k for a king. Way too much. But we got some tax money in right before we moved in our new house, so decided to spend on furniture. And one of those mattress stores on every corner had a "refurbished" one--one that someone slept in and brought back (I think you have 90 days)--but it had been de-licked/bed-bugged, whatever. Half off!!
Sweet, right? Only $1,500 for the mattress we were in love with and they were throwing the box springs in for free! Such philanthropists! The catch--the haunting, fricking, cocksucker of a catch--was that you forfeit your right to return it. No 90 night guarantee. No big deal, though, we've laid on this mattress several times in several stores. What could go wrong? Well, the damn thing is like sleeping in quicksand. A water bed is easier to get out of. And not those expensive, firm water beds that some kinky parents had back in the 90s, I'm talkin el' cheapo, kiddo, 80s/90s, noisy as shite, water bed death traps. I literally had to get my 7-year-old to come grab my hand and help me up some mornings. I thought about installing some sort of hospital-like trapeze from the ceiling that I could hoist my old fat arse up with. And it hurt my back something fierce.
tl;dr Anybody know anything about those Tuft and Needles?

Your wife doesn't complain to me about the bed when we are in it

Spend the money on a good mattress.

Just bought one about 6 months ago. It's not like the memory foams you've dealt with. It's 2 layers of their own foam that they've developed. Some people think they're too firm, but they redeveloped them recently and they're not as firm as they once were. They are the highest rated mattress on Amazon.
Pros:
Price - Hell the King Size is only $750.
90 day trial period. If you don't like, you donate it and get full refund, no question
Very supportive
You don't sink into them, you feel like you're still lying on top
Only 2 breathable layers, so it doesn't get hot
Unlike memory foam, still has some bounce in them for sweet lovemaking
When SO moves on their side, you don't feel bounce
Negs:
Can be too firm for some people's liking, so stomach sleepers may not like
That's about it.
It's probably easier if you have specific questions. We put a nice pillow topper on ours to mainly protect the mattress. Don't put waterproof one, it will make you sweat your balls off as it blocks the breathing of the mattress. I love mine.
The End.

Bought ours about 2 yrs ago and absolutely love it. Some think it's too firm, but we wanted a firm mattress.
Make sure to give it a week or so to mold to your body. I hated it after the first night b/c I thought it was way too firm, but gave it a chance. After a few days it was perfect. I'll never buy another kind of mattress again.

love seeing the positive reviews for companies like TuftNeedle.
Anything that makes those god-awful mattress stores go out of business makes me happy.

That's b/c Saatva isn't on Amazon.
Pretty sure Saatva is the highest rated mattress out there.
We bought one about a month ago and we are about to return it b/c it's too firm for our liking.

The reason that you see tuft and needle and casper, etc popping up now is that Tempur let one of their patents expire so you can get these really nice mattresses for way less then previously had.

This.
The mark up on a mattress is insane.

We love ours. Their showroom in downtown PHX is cool. Just a bunch of rooms with beds set up. You can close the doors to just lay down and relax and see if you like the mattress. They serve free beer as well.
Get the pillows they sell....those are awesome as well.
