It's honestly just smells. As odd as that sounds.
When you suddenly clear your nasal cavity, way more receptors for your olfactory nerve are "uncovered" and the next breath in can be particularly potent for some people, depending on how sensitive your nose is, how much mucus you generally have up in there, etc.
