What's a reasonable price to charge as a tutor?

Someone asked me to tutor his kid and he told me to let him know what I think would be a fair rate to charge. I have no idea what a reasonable price is for tutoring and I'm not trying to take advantage of this guy and overcharge or anything. Has anyone here ever tutored/been tutored? What did you charge/pay? TIA
ETA: the guy is in college.

How much is your time worth?
$30/hr? $50/hr?
Are the parents ballers?

College, entry level accounting course. I haven't met the guy but it seems like he cares he's just having trouble grasping it.

Im sure you can Google standard rates for college tutors.

Look up tutoring services and charge accordingly. There's dozens of websites that offer tutoring services.

The thing is I'm a senior accounting major and the guy is taking his first accounting class. I know it and can teach it to him but I'm not some professional tutor or anything. And I have a feeling google will give me the going rate for professional tutors. Just thought it may be a good idea to ask around here.

I would say $20-25/hour.
The better people at LSU are around $25-30/hour.

What do you think your hour is worth including any prep time you might need. $45 seems good to me. He may only need a handful of lessons to grasp the basics and build from there.

If you haven't tutored before, but are knowledgeable in the course material, you're in the $25 range. The rate goes up as you become more proficient in teaching others.

If your not used to tutoring $25 is probably good.
