Find a contact for a diamond wholesaler in ATL or another large city. You’ll get a retail 10K diamond for 4K.

If you decide to go natural diamond (vs lab grown), go to Pricescope.com and read up. Lots of good info there.

Do yourself a favor and save some money by getting Moissanite. No one will know the difference. I think I paid $3500 for my wife’s ring bc the setting had small diamonds but the center stone is 1.5 carats (~$600 if I recall). Women afterwards were blown away and were like jeez how much did you spend?? I gladly told each of them it wasn’t a diamond and they were all shocked. So don’t let the hype and tradition get the best of you. Your wallet will thank you and your wife won’t care about the ring much later on. And if she overvalues that sort of thing then you’re already in trouble

I have heard that. Jeweler said natural diamond can be sold back at a good price. Lab grown won’t be able to be sold later. But way cheaper to the point where it’s worth and I’m not really looking to sell it later on… that will hopefully not be an issue or matter in the future.
