Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't DKE own the land that their house is on, and that's why they never have to rent it out when they're kicked off of campus?

They own the house. LSU still owns the land, which is why they still have to listen to them.

No offense, but stick to medicine. If LSU is keeping DKE from putting these signs up and it's not an internal organization issue, I don't see how this isn't prior restraint. LSU is a governmental entity restricting speech at that point.

ETA: Not taking into consideration all the ins and outs of 1st Amendment law, like how certain restrictions on student speech are allowed compared to standard citizenry.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think DKE is the actually the only fraternity on campus that owns both its house and the land upon which the house sits.

I thought they owned the house and the land and the reason they had to (more or less) listen to LSU is because they have some control as far as DKE being a greek chapter and able to participate in everything as well as the individuals as students.

According to my google skills, they are mocking the death of another frats pledge, Ben Wynne. Died of alcohol poisoning. The wake was 8/28 and they played UTEP the next week.

Yes, but there was much more to Ben Wynne's death than simple alcohol poisoning. That kid had to have been suicidal or something from the stories you hear.

Regardless, the joke was cringeworthy, despite being somewhat clever.

Excuse me, ma'am! The supreme court roundly rejects prior restraint.

I will not calm down dude. This family restaurant! I got buddies that died face down in the mud so folks could enjoy this family restaurant.
