What is the best type to mitigate kids barreling through resulting in the typical holes in walls from the door handles?

Decorative wood block behind the door knob with a metal/rubber bumper that matches the hardware of your doors

I've got a mixture of hinge stops and the ones you screw into the base.

I prefer the hinge stops.

you have two choices, wall stops or floor stops
floor stops are best but you'll need to drill the slab
wall stops are out of the way but they can come loose out of drywall unless you have blocking or use good anchors

I have the magnetic type. One part screws into the base board and one part screws into the btm of the door. When the door is open you have to give it a little pull to open it.

I have a mixture of wall stops and hinge stops, each depending on the door's relationship to the wall.

I have a mixture, I'd think most people do.

Spring stops are superior, but obviously don't work if there is no wall to swing into. There, you use hinge stops.

Spring-like thing screwed into the baseboards...of course, then you have to deal with the fart sounds once they discover it!

I had hinge stops in my last house. Looked much better and easier to sweep/vacuum, but they had a lot of give. Especially with the heavy front door. It was either stopped to soon, or the door would hit the wall if someone flung it open too hard.

Have the spring baseboard ones in my new house. Works well. Only issue is trying to vacuum around (although the springing mostly gets them out of the way), and my 1 year old finding them and making that annoying noise.

The kind with a buckle on one end.

The kid makes the wall cry, you make the kid cry. Keep using the belt until one of them gets smarter and quits that shite.

Hopefully, it's not the wall.
