Staying in San antonio tonight. Hotel is the hotel indigo next to the Alamo. I know the river walk is not far, but anyone have suggestions on where I should go? Love tex/mex and good beer.

Tomorrow night I am staying in Austin at the embassy suites south of the river. Should I cab it to 6th street? Any good places walkable from my hotel?

TIA

Yea on congress.

I normally like walking to places, but am not familiar with Austin.

6th street is trash. Go to Rainey street or stay on congress.

Have a three-way with Fox Mulder and a hipster while sitting in traffic and fighting-off cedar fever.

You should check The Luxury out for beer. It's on Jones Ave on the Riverwalk, but away from the tourists traps. Closer to the Pearl.

San Antonio: Riverwalk, LuLu's cafe, dirty nellies

Austin: live music, bats under congress, gay sex

I'm going to piggyback.

I'll be in San Antonio two weeks from now and all I'm finding is that it is old people mecca with lame tourist shite.

I just want a good restaurant with legit drinks or a nice cocktail bar.. something like that.

You can walk pretty much anywhere from there. Head south for the South Congress hipster scene. Head north to 6th Street for the tourist scene. Rainey St is pretty much across the lake and around the corner. You can also hop on a pedicab to the Eastside if you want to. Lot's of options close to your hotel.

Stay exactly one day in each and go somewhere else would be my advice.

Don't take a cab in Austin, use uber. It's cheaper and easier.

But you're really walking distance to good restaurants from your hotel.

6th St. is overrated and prob not much fun if you're by yourself.
