The cat in this case sold coke within 1500 ft of a church. He got 30 years, and could have received as much as 60 years, but they had mercy.

If he has money, he won't do much jail time, if any.

As I stated earlier, the church thing could really mess him up. People talking about the rehab stuff, it's not that easy when the charge is intent to distribute. Of course, like previously stated, money and a good lawyer won't hurt.

Not sure why everyone is against the 1500 ft church perimeter. People are always complaining that criminals get off too easy and this is just one way to increase the penalties.

Possession of controlled substance with intent to sell, within 1500ft of church. Bond at 100k.
Went to school with the guy. Had a big bust this weekend and saw he was involved. Whats he looking at?
Why even post this if you aren't going to provide any obvious details?

I would assume if they nailed him for intent they seized assets.

Because churches are full of these things called children. Laws are set up to deter criminal activity in areas where these little guys are prevalent. Churches, schools, day cares, ball parks etc pose a greater risk for the criminal element if they are caught committing their crimes in these areas. As it should be. Go be a crack head somewhere else.

You have really let your ignorance be known in this thread. The guy tells you the exact reason why and you still feel the need to disagree.
Fact is, just bc you may not believe in God or agree with what churches do, most provide a lot of help in communities, especially with young kids.
Most dope dealers know the law, trust me, so it's not like they're at an unfair advantage when these charges pop up. Some tend to do their business in these areas bc cop traffic is a lot less likely.
