Garand

less than 800

If you got a Garand for that price you got a steal, or you got it years ago, or it’s in rough shape. The ones I see in good shape now can be over $2000.

I got a Garand made by International Harvester from the DCM in 1993 for $165 (with Slick Willy’s autograph stamp on the paperwork), and could get upwards of $1500 for it today.

I have one from 1942. Cost less than 800 out the door.

That's interesting. I was under the impression that an authentic, WWII era M-1 Garand in good condition now fetches at least $1,500.00. I have run across copies that were being passed off as authentic WWII Garands that were being sold rather cheaply.

Can't really say it's one thing since. I have the Army footlockers of my grandfather and great-grandfather which contain militaria going back to the Civil War. Documents, personal letters, photographs, uniform pieces, etc.

First edition, personal note to my great-great-grandfather from General Pershing.

Painting of my great-grandfather while he commanded Ft. Riley CRTC.

Flag for the 2nd Infantry Division, WW1

Great-grandfathers medals, rank pin, and vehicle-mounted rank.

One of my grandfather's medals. Chinese Order of the Resplendent Banner, 7th Class.

I have a basketball commemorating one of the LSU women's final four appearances signed by several members of the men's team that also went to the final four the following year. Big Baby, Tyrus Thomas, Darrel Mitchel, Tasmin Mitchel, etc.

I have a British army ceremonial bugle used for parades that I bought at an antique store in Notting Hill.

Rifle my grandfather used in WWI and his Colt sidearm he had as an officer in WWII. I even have the original owners guide on the Colt. Also have his sword that was issued to him with his officer commission. Have lots of cool stuff but these have to be the coolest.

I also have the original survey of land my family has owned since about 1900 in Viginia. It was made up in 1823.
