I'm Catholic, so our wedding events are lit as frick, fam. One of my best friends is getting married soon. Can't wait to get fricking wasted.

Most embarrassing thing to hear at a wedding was that a friend of mine who was getting married, that grew up baptist and his new bride had to get books about sexual intercourse

I won't go to a catholic wedding. Won't happen.

First catholic wedding I ever went to (first time in a Catholic Church) my wife had to keep reminding me not to put my feet on the kneel board thingy. I thought it was a foot rest.

I went to a full Catholic wedding once and there was no alcohol or music at the reception.

That isn't a true Catholic wedding.. No alcohol and music? That's blasphemy

I'm marrying a catholic girl in a few months.
The reception is going to be make the ceremony worth it for my guests.

We then waited an hour and half for the wedding party to take pictures.

It sucks having to sit through an hr wedding, go to the reception and have to wait around while the wedding party takes pictures before things get started.. But even then, when the wedding party finally arrives, they still have to do all the wedding dances, etc.

I understand it is a celebration for the people getting married, but I think there should be some consideration for the guest.

That's when you pre-game and eat, man.

That's exactly what's happening. I asked the bride for more details today.

The ceremony is from 2:30-3 (not bad!)
However, they are not seeing each other beforehand. So, wedding pictures and other things are planned to go on from 3-5. Dinner starts at 5. The wedding is outside under a tent, and there's not much in the way of entertainment. She said there may be games? outside. And there's a lake we can look at?

I told her my girlfriend has to babysit and that we won't be able to make it until after the ceremony. I'll show up sometime in the 2 hour gap where people are supposedly staring at the lake drinking apple juice.

not catholic so we couldn't partake, but instead had to kneel the entire time

You are not required to kneel if you aren't catholic. Best decision I've ever made was to leave the catholic "faith". 9+ years in a catholic school will do that to you.
