Obviously there are others that could be considered easier (art, music, other business degrees) but pick from this list

People saying English have no idea wtf they are talking about. Its not a useful major by any means, but that doesn't mean its easy.

As with any major its easier for students that have an interest and talent for writing and critical thinking. I really enjoyed writing papers and digging into critical theory. I actually miss staying up all night editing my work and perfecting my arguments. There were guys in my freshman level classes that were struggling with proper grammar and could barely write in complete sentences. Asking them to critically analyse poetry would be like asking me to engineer a nuclear reactor.

Nursing is one of the hardest undergrad majors. Education on the other hand is historically the easiest. But of the choices on that list I would have to go with Marketing.

Sport management is definitely easier and possibly easiest but that wasn't an option in the OP

B) Biology
D) Nursing

Complicated content, time consuming and a lot of information to generally remember. But it's most rote knowledge at the undergrad level, not a lot of critical thinking. Average Difficulty.

That might depend on the university. Biology after the initial core (Calc 1 and 2, Chem, Bio, Stats) takes a hell of a lot of critical thinking. You aren't passing org chem, genetics, cell bio, biochem, ecology, virology, etc., etc. without a hell of a lot of critical thinking - not to mention all the labs at those levels.

It was one of the four or five most difficult majors at my school (below biochem but right there with physics, the more difficult engineering tracks, architecture, and a few others). The bell curves also can get really screwy because the major tends to be loaded with people gunning for med school. Less than 30% of those who start the program actually finished it.

Is tough to judge, because it's largely student-driven in terms of subject matter/difficulty, and sub-standard departments are plentiful. In many cases, it can be harder than most people give it credit for. There's too much freedom in English to judge it as a single entity. Difficulty varies - Can be soul crushingly difficult (some undergrad programs will see Seniors writing 250+ pages of content their final 2 semesters, that's a lot), or lazy and easy. When taught correctly, it's Above Average Difficulty. And possibly high difficulty.

Yes

Half the english department at most schools probably doubles as SJW training, so obviously if you're of the correct mind it'll take no effort.

But I suspect there is still some academic rigor left in plenty of english programs.

Hotel Management

Had a buddy who knew he wanted to be an Naval Aviator. Took the easiest major he could find and then applied to OCS-Flight Officer Training once he graduated.

Dude flies EF-18's and is living a hell of a life.

On the surface, I would lean towards the Liberal Arts degree (English, in this case). With that being said, I went to a University with a huge Nursing program. If you spent any time with them (some...but not all), you began to wonder how they remembered to breathe. I took Anatomy and Physiology classes that were full of Nursing students. Good Lord, it scared me to go to the hospital after that.

I think doctors give the medical profession such an inferiority complex that some tend to oversell how hard their respective discplines are.

A lot of you guys keep mentioning English as an easy major.

I would hardly interpreting poetry and writing multiple 15 page term papers each semester as an easy major.

If I want an easy major, I wouldn't choose one as time consuming as English

Yeah, majors like English or Creative Writing are hardly easy, imo.

I would concede some of those points for later courses, but early bio is a breeze really, that's why it kind of averages out.

If you're looking at Overall Difficulty - Physics (and it's relatives - Astronomy, Cosmology, etc.), Math, Chemistry, Econ, Philosophy are all Top Tier. The next group would probably be English, History, Biology, Computer Science, etc.

If you notice, most of these are more classic areas of study (sans Comp Sci), the problem with the rest is that they mostly came post-1960 with the need of hippy snowflakes where everyone needed to be their own thing. Business and Engineering were both vocational up to that point, not University, or Theoretical, in nature. They did/do not require that level of understanding or knowledge. And they still don't in general. That's why after these two tiers (plus a few missing majors), it's everything else in a giant barrel of "meh, not that hard at all."

Most people saying Education are right, because Education shouldn't be a college major, no offense to any Education majors. People should have broader degrees in their subject areas, even for Elementary Ed. The amount of superfluous degrees at most institutions is mind-blowing. Heck, even Physics should just be a part of Math, there's almost no need for a separate classification.

Gaps become much more prevalent post-Undergrad as MDs, Physicists, JDs, Chemists significantly separate themselves from the pack in most cases.
