Yeah, I don't see how countries such as Germany and Japan don't have at least some military tech that is superior to ours.

I assume you're referring to alternate sources of energy and cures for cancer?
If so, I agree. Curing diseases like cancer and finding another way to power our lives would destroy about half of our economy.
If public health was truly a concern, tobacco and sugar would've been outlawed years ago. The amount of wealth created by cancer and diabetes is astronomical.
We can land a returning rocket booster on a platform but can't find a way to cure diabetes? Give me a break.

My old job used to be counterterrorism. The amount of shite investigated/thwarted on a routine basis would blow the minds of average citizens.
