Went yesterday, as it's a 2 hour drive hour with 3 kids which isn't very fun. Met with smiles and politeness from all races. Even ventured down the "dangerous" Seigen Lane. Only thing still dangerous about it is those damn potholes in front of Walmart and Sam's. Looked and smelled like the same Baton Rouge the wife and I left 10 years ago?

Lol. You can keep all that comes with BR now, I'll keep my simple town life in Lafayette.
As a serious answer about BR, the only redeeming thing to being in that town is LSU. Lived there for 8 years including college, not worried about going back permanently.

Frankly, they're different . One is a city and the other a town, so it depends how you want to live.

If where you lived before arriving in BR is worse than BR, then you're happy. I personally like where I live in BR. South Baton Rouge. Lots of new stuff going up all the time. I'm close enough to all the things I want to do. I'm sure there are better places but there are far worse as well. Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
