That's a ~$1 Billion property that's less than 20 years old. No way they'd tear it down.

They will refurb the entire floor, it will become floor 33 and all the rooms will be renumbered. Floor 32 will no longer exist. It could be removed from the elevator selections altogether or the button may just not work. Every floor above it will be renumbered as well.

Pretty safe bet that no house keepers were in there cleaning.

House keeping had not been in his room since he arrived. He had a Do Not Disturb sign up, the cleaning service usually doesn't enter your room with the sign up.

They will use it for some kind of internal purpose. A storage room. A room where security sits and monitors closed circuit tvs. There will be signs that say "employees only" and that will be the end of it.

Some people will go up to take a photo outside the room, but that should end quickly especially when people realize they are just basically taking pictures of a big city hotel hallway.

No way they rent the room even for 1000 a night. THe 365,000 they would make would be totally outweighed by the bad publicity. Articles in magazines saying "you can rend the death suite" and stuff like that. Not worth it at even ten times that price.

They will make some other use of it for at least a time being. Like someone else said, storage. Renaming the floor "33" is an option too I would think. Anything they do will be because of the PR perception. Have you ever thought of what happens in a hotel room before you are there? Worked for the a hotel 2001. Someone killed themselves in a room, it was out of commission for a while and got a total redo, but it was being rented out soon enough.

They've imploded hotels in Vegas that were newer and for lessee reasons. If the stigma is enough that people won't stay or gamble there, and there are plenty other options in Vegas, expect them to implode and rebuild under a different name. Mandalay is at the far end of the strip, so it's not like it's a prime property in the middle of the strip like Bolagio.

Huh??

You people are crazy for thinking they will demo a whole building over this. Most people won't have any issue staying or gambling there.

Perhaps. I bet they have some kind of insurance for events like this. Anyone know if that exists?

Insurance for damage to the building and possibly for lost revenue from the suite having to be repaired. But never heard of insurance that covers lost revenue due to bad ju-ju

I could totally see this happening to that wing of the floor. Wall it off. No access from the stairwell, only emergency escape. Reprogram the elevator so that access is only available to employees who have a need to be on that floor and is accessed via passcard, i.e.: no button, and you know EXACTLY whose credentials were used for access. Kinda like you can't get onto the penthouse or luxury floors in many hotels if you're one of the poors that doesn't have a penthouse or luxury room key. Completely isolate it and make it controlled access. Casinos are generally good at stuff like that.

I could totally see that happening.

Strip it and turn it into extra storage. No way they'll let freaks flock to it as a morbid novelty, IMO.

House where Manson murders occurred was torn down and land sold for new development. Dirt in Hollywood (just like Vegas) is worth too much to kept with tainted improvements.

This would be nearly impossible to retrofit.

They will use it again. That's high dollar space. I can see them knocking down walls and revamping that floor thought and renumbering.

But it won't be a closet and especially not a security room, that makes zero sense logistically.
