...out on HW 61 going towards Port Hudson? Passed thru there and it looks like it's been shut down for some time. Used to barely be able to get into the parking lot on a weekday afternoon it was so crowded. Pops used to stop there and get a tall boy and buy me boiled peanuts everyday. Good memories.

FWIW, as I got older and wiser, it always seemed like the two guys running the place we're into some shady stuff.

Just wondering if anyone has an inside story. I doubt they closed due to lack of business. Loved that place.

No way it was lack of business. I had heard a rumor several years ago that the dudes who ran it got into some kind of trouble. Maybe it was taxes or something? Can't remember. They had some badass grub in the back of that store back in the day and a vast assortment of coldass tall boys.

It closed years ago. The store itself is still closed, but a couple of guys recently opened a small restaurant on the side. People rave about their crawfish.

Owner works for one hour air and just helped me replace my Air Conditioner. I bought a couple live sacks off him prices are decent.

Original owner or his wife had serious medical issues IIRC.

I did hear a rumor they paid all their employees in cash so could understand if it were a tax thing. Also heard they were running a prostitution ring in that run down motel behind the store. Again, just rumors but no truth.

They had excellent crawfish back then. Not sure if the new people are any relation to the old tho. Didn't know they re-opened.

They're not related. I know one of the owners. He was selling wholesale crawfish then he and another guy opened this place and started the restaurant/seafood store.
