Throwing a bunch of eggs in an open grass field does not constitute a hunt.

People still do them

BREC had one this weekend. My church always puts one on.

The weather probably cancelled a few

We went to three different "hunts" none of which required more than picking them up off the grass. Hidden in plain site.

depends on the age of the kids. The key is to do this system.

Give the kids older than 5 certain color baskets and they can only get eggs that color. Let the little kids get the other colors hidden in plain site, and take the other eggs and hide them harder (usually with change in them) for the bigger kids. It works great and each group gets to have fun at the same time.

Yea, when I was a kid they put them next to the fan blades inside the AC units and in the forks of very tall trees. By God, we earned those real boiled eggs that were hand painted, not some plastic crap with candy inside.

Eggsactly. And we also had to give them to our parents because it was what we ate for breakfast for the next 3 weeks.

I helped put out 8000 eggs for babies to 4th graders to pick up yesterday morning. Imagine how long it would take to properly hide them...and where they could all be hidden? This was a church Easter egg hunt.

Now the family hunt that occurred after lunch today, yeah you bet those were well hidden. But that was for only 6 kids.

We did one last night based on the crappy weather forecast.

We put small glowsticks in the plastic eggs and hid them in the backyard.

Kids had a blast.

You gotta hide some in plain sight for the little kids to get a few. Hid some in more challenging places for the older kids.

I threw a mean one for my kids this morning. Had to dig for the golden egg. Gotta keep their skills up
