It is all a matter of confidence. I have successfully free climbed many structures , both man made and natural but nothing that high yet. I utilize "white noise" to block out all distractions and focus on being one with the structure. Allowing anything to penetrate the white noise and confidence that comes with being "in the zone" can result in death. I am a master at harnessing white noise and will never die from a climb that I undertake.

My sphincter tightens up and my palms get sweaty when I watch videos like that.

Makes me nauseous to watch that, but like a car wreck, it is hard to turn away.

That said, anything over about 50 feet and the results are the same.

I saw this on TV the other day, super cringeworthy:

Russian base jump fail

Apparently he didn't die.

Dude, no kidding! My company built the O&M Facility at Javelina. What company are you with, Nextera? Blattner?

I am with GE. I was the EHS Manager for Javelina last year. Javelina 2 (Alcatras I think) is starting in September.

I have Blattner on this current site, working under Invenergy.

That's such a coincidence. I knew the Renewable sector was a pretty small world, but this is scary small
