I have a Nephew that can't talk without throwing in "shite" and frick" in every sentence.

I consciously don't curse.I want any kids around to see that saying "frick" and "shite" doesn't make you cool.

I think it's also a sign of a poor vocabulary.

Cussing like a sailor proves you have the intelligence of a, well, grunt sailor

It definitely conveys a lack of intelligence.

I usually assume they work in the oilfield industry.

I always scored higher in vocabulary than just about anything but I cuss like a goddamn mother fricking sailor. Because I want to be cool.

I know someone just like that, but he's 60. I hate to be around him in public.

Nobody takes someone who uses foul language serious.

It automatically proves that I'm better than you, and you sound like an idiot.

Ofcourse I cuss, sitting around the camp fire, or at the bar with my buddies, or at the poker table, but not in public and/or around any women or kids.

It's soooo trashy an unnecessary.

I curse in certain situations. LSU games. Playing sports. Riding my dirt bike. Or fricking my wife.

Outside of that, I dont curse.

My dad says this. He stopped when I told him one day telling someone to "shut up" doesn't quite sound as effective as "shut the frick up".

There are times when a cuss word gets a point across much more effectively. I hate hearing people swear in public when it is unnecessary.

Sign of low intelligence and lack of class. In other words, only dumb counts curse.

And it gets worse every year.

Media and culture have been getting more and more vulgar for decades.

I mean, unless you're at a major investment bank or top consulting/law firms.

I'm not justifying it, but let's not pretend it's not pretty common in some pretty elite settings.

Worked with a guy from Philly, he would drop F-bombs while he was just having a regular conversation with someone..

Didn't care who was in the room, even a Nun one time...
