i agree that in the real world there are people that are not.

but as a Christian, i know that i am extended much grace from being the giant selfish shithead that i am. you're going to commit violence against somebody else, i hope God captures your soul and you repent, but you still have to be removed from society for a time.

through government policy and and academia we have created a group of extremely angry men with no hope for the future because they have been told they have no hope.

this is all liberal and progressives doing. you have taught people to hate based off of melanin.

Here's a thought, leave the cocksuckers in prison.

The only reason the murder rate is down is because medical science and in particular hospital trauma units have improved by leaps and bounds.

What ER technological advancements has occurred in the last 20 years that have saved murder (gunshot) victims to cause the murder rate to decrease by ~half?

Violent crime is higher now because of increased reporting of rape and domestic violence. The actual rate can be seen on tangible things like murder, which is way down.

Property crime is way up.

Also in these cities you are disarming law abiding citizens and making it harder to protect yourself.

Just looking at new orleans in 3 years murder has increased by 83%, the national average is 22%.

Im sorry but this is a problem regardless of how many people were killed in 1990. Its trending way way bad in the wrong direction for some of these cities.

quote:

The city's troubling murder rate comes at the same time as "progressive prosecutor" Jason Williams took over as district attorney for New Orleans in January 2021. Under tax fraud investigation himself, Williams promised a "more selective" approach to prosecutions that goes "beyond punishment."

Most of the police who have actually fought violent crime have left or retired. Any solution is nothing but sterile conjecture because the ones that are left have never done it live and their leaders are nothing but political appointees.

Any attempt to proactively police will be measured in lives. I honestly don’t believe they are willing to pay the price.

Judges were involved as well. That judge that just allowed Teedy's buddy to go on probation, after he put a gun in a bunch of women's face, then stole their car needs his head turned into a canoe if that kid creates one more victim.

If these tools make decisions, they need total responsibility for the outcome.

Tourniquets have cut the murder rate by 1/3. BRPD tracks medical equipment numbers and saves. An average year is 30-40 saves as per ER doctor reports.

IMO it seems obvious that the threat of jail or even the threat of someone with a gun/weapon fighting back is doing exactly zero to deter criminals from committing crimes.

Obviously you still want to protect yourself so you should do that, just stating I don't think it's going to deter many criminals from trying.

All of that is to say I think the only thing right now we can realistically do for "quick" results is harsher sentences on crimes. The longer play is the kids growing up in a single parent household. I don't know how to fix that but I think that's the other biggie.

But we could, I wish with the snap of a finger, make penalties for crimes infinitely harsher and we'd at least get more criminals off the streets, since you're seeing a lot(most I'm sure) of the dudes doing really bad things having ridiculously long rap sheets that leave you scratching your head as to why they're not in jail like 13 offenses ago.

Your method of “hard punishment” has been tried and failed miserably.

That's a ridiculously disingenuous representation of my stance, but then that's about par for the course for you.

Many of the repeat offenders aren't repeating because they're didn't have access to rehab opportunities, they are repeating because they encounter no penalties for not changing. Mere imprisonment isn't enough of a deterrent against continued poor behavior and can often be seen as a badge of honor among various groups.

To put it more plainly, they need an environment where they see something as a definite carrot and the only other option as a definite stick, then those options being applied in a consistent manner to instill an understanding of basic personal responsibility, then build on that from there.

Quit voting Democrat. Address the actual issues.

I am completely against voting democrat but the only options republicans have is longer sentences and the death penalty.

As with most issues, liberals have the heart to fix the problem but not the brains. Conservatives have the brains to know what the root cause is but don’t have the heart to do anything about it.
