Born and raised in Texas but now living in BR.

Things I miss:
Quality Tex-Mex, Whataburger at every corner, and good spicy bbq.

I saw people mention shiner, but I prefer Karbach. Fantastic brewery and a great tour. If any of y'all get the chance I recommend going to Karbach on a Saturday for a tour and just hang out. They have some great food trucks around and it's just a great atmosphere.

Thanks Stagg, will have to try.

Try Spanish Flower (on Main). It's
actually hit or miss. But when they're on, it's great food. My kids loves the grande burrito (off menu).

advertising for Bucc-ee's 400ish miles away in San Marcos.

that must be the mecca for that chain, went there a couple of summers ago to stock up for a weekend of tubing, fairly large place to not really stock much at all, bought beer there then went to a regular grocery store

bucees started in the freeport area. Usually have a shite load of pumps, spaced fairly comfortably, ideal for dragging a boat in. Always have cheap ice and clean restrooms.

Can't say that I've ever had the desire to use one of their walmArt-sized stores, or buy their bumper stickers, but they're consistently and significantly better than the alternative.

Louisiana is a shithole every time I'm there I'm even more convinced the entire state is full of retards.

I would have to disagree with being a shithole, however I can't disagree with the latter. Some places in this state have people that have to be from another planet.

Tito's Handcrafted Vodka is widely acknowledged as the finest vodka in Texas so it can only follow that it is the finest vodka in the world.

(But it is damn good vodka.)

Dr Pepper
Whataburger
HEB
Rudy's BBQ
St Arnold beer

These things set a high standard in their market yet brand themselves as Texas, at least when you are in the state. I don't understand the hate.

When I go out of town, I enjoy trying the cuisine and/or attractions of the locals for comparison. I'm not going to shite on Chicago style pizza because it's not Mexican food. To each his own, and some people's 'own' is damn good.

This is a strange topic. Why do companies that started or call Texas home bother you? What's wrong with having a little state pride in products or services that are well known either global, nationally, or regionally.

Louisiana has/had quite a few to brag about as well.
