Thank you.

It came out of nowhere. I have younger siblings and it was really hard on all of us.

52. Hurts no matter the age. I think about him more since his passing, which is kind of sad.

I was 18. I answered the phone when my dad called from work to tell my mom that he was having a heart attack. He had heart issues before, so I it didn't come out of the blue. He never made it to the hospital.

46. My true hero, that I wish I would have realized at a much earlier age instead of idolizing professional athlete. Toughest hardest working man I knew

6...just old enough to realize it sucked

Died on an exercise bike at a gym. True story, they turned that gym into a funeral home several years later.

Suicide. Tough for sure. Sister was 14 at the time. She also took it hard. Family was never the same. His side of the family cut us off for years blaming my mom. He was the one who screwed up. Think about it daily.

18. Suicide
My dad was going through depression due to needing another back surgery. It was the day LSU was going to play A&M back in '94 and my first year at LSU. My uncle showed up at the dorm the next day to tell me. Ran outside and cried like a baby. Miss him every day.

9 days before my 15th birthday. He had retired with a disability pension from NOPD in 1990 after an on duty vehicle accident injury. I came home from school one day and found him on the floor in my parents bedroom. Sudden and unexpected heart attack. He was 39.

I turned 40 in Sept and there's still not a day that goes by that I don't think of him, especially now with two boys of my own who I wish he could meet.
