I had never actually watched this show before. I've just been watching some clips on youtube to see how absurd it actually is. I just have one question. Where do these people get their money from? It has to cost a small fortune to buy and maintain these ships.
ETA: especially when you are apparently crashing into everybody.

Good for them!
They're doing police work governments are not willing to do. I'm an anti-environmentalist and hate the PETA guys, but the Sea Sheperd guys are doing good work helping to preserve wildlife in the open seas. I don't understand how so many can be opposed to their work. Would those opposed to them prefer to let illegal fishing vessels operate freely?
I also get a kick out of watching them drive the Japanese crazy

I was told bob barker funds them.
That captain douche renounced his US citizenship so frick him and his hippie crew. They're international pirates and I can't believe the Japanese navy hasn't issued them a very stern warning yet.

I used to call them Pirates, then I realized Pirate is way to cool of name for those losers.

I don't object to them doing a job no country really tries to do.
I do. The whales the Japanese are harvesting are not endangered. They're the feral hogs of the sea. This is like crying and protesting because someone trapped a rat in their attic.

This is the best Whale Wars scene ever

It's never wasted. Other sea critters had a feast off of that rotting flesh.

I can't stand those morons, they jumped on to one of the Japanese boats then claimed they were being held hostage...should've thrown them overboard.
I liked how they drove their batman boat in front of one of the Japanese boats and crashed into it and got their boat cut in half, at which point they turned around and started screaming that the whaling boat tried to kill them

I'm pretty sure most are opposed to the people themselves more than their cause. Go save whales til the rudders fall off, if that's your thing. Just don't be so pretentious/self-righteous about it. And you're not nearly as cool as you picture yourself to be.

One of their ships is named after Bob Barker. He is a significant funder of their "research" or as I refer to it, terrorism

Well, the fact that they are targeting people Legally doing something and interfering with someone's livelihood isn't a laudable act.
If they go after illegal fishing that's great. Leave people that aren't doing anything illegal alone. Because you don't personally like it doesn't give you carte blanche to disrupt their activities.
How would you like it if you were out on a tuna trip and some PETA assholes were harassing you and disrupting your trip and trying to foul your catch?

Something tells me that it wouldn't work out too well for them around the Green Canyon.

I don't really agree with whaling but these assholes make me want to take up the profession just to piss them off. Taking a bunch of greenhorn vegans out to open sea and putting them in situations that should be reserved for vets is borderline criminal. But, the less outspoken, pretentious, fart smelling vegans there are in the world, the better.

Not correct, read up a bit on it. The vast majority of their 'victims' are flat out breaking laws. The only questionable ones I'm aware of are the Japanese who call their commercial whaling research. NOBODY believes what they're doing is research. They catch the whales and sell them for food. The fact that they take a few notes along the ways doesn't change anything.
Interpol has issued statements of support for their work.
"Sea Shepherd campaigns are guided by the United Nations World Charter for Nature. Sections 21-24 of the Charter provides authority to individuals to act on behalf of and enforce international conservation laws.
Sea Shepherd cooperates fully with all international law enforcement agencies and its enforcement activities complying with standard practices of law and policing enforcement."

If you're looking for some good, fictional entertainment, watch the video of Paul Watson getting "shot" right in the whale policeman badge. It's so ridiculously fake.
