Anyone that is out about their normal business and is obstructed at an intersection by a crowd that surrounds their vehicle and begins cursing at them for no reason has a reasonable fear for their personal safety and should be able to escape that situation in a method that might cause harm to those around the vehicle.
Those people are not lawfully assembled and their behavior could be interpreted as threatening by a reasonable person.
The driver of that vehicle would be justified in pulling out a firearm or just gassing it.
