The U.S. citizens have the right to protest. And one form of protesting is to interfere with trade commerce, thus forcing the government's hand ($ talks, not words). However, blocking the transportation route of everyday citizens IS NOT what would make a protest work.
If everyone refused to buy gasoline one day across the entire country. And if everyone decided to walk out in front of their homes and sit down in their yards or sidewalks or stoops etc and refuse to drive/work etc for just one day, the puppet masters would really listen then.
These "protesters " are hate filled, confused and misguided individuals who have put ZERO thought into organizing an actual powerful protest.

I'm always confused why people protest on the roads like that. All you're doing is pissing off people who may actually support you in someway.

I'm sorry, but if the thought never even enters your mind that you may in fact be run over if you try to stop someone in traffic by protesting, then my friend, you are the one with the problem. Protest all you want, but when you drag a bystander, or in this case a passerby into your drama and begin agitating them, expect them to retaliate. You have a right to freedom of assembly and freedom of speech. You have no right to stop traffic. She had it coming in my opinion.
