Not that I'm necessarily complaining about getting the reverse of what you'd normally see, but how weird of a situation is it that a pharmacy would put the generic name of a typical drug on the bottle label which allows for a significant reduction in cost but actually fill the bottle with the name brand of the drug?

I happened to check the pill identifier number on the pill and go figure it is the name brand and not the generic equivalent. On the bottle it notes that they supposedly filled the prescription using the generic equivalent and the cost was in line with the generic version.

I'm not sure if this was purposely done or by accident. Either way the drug itself was ultimately correct. I tend to check the pill identifiers just to be sure there's not a major mistake by the pharmacy in filling the prescription with the completely wrong medication. I didn't anticipate catching this though.

Happened to me once, I took it as a pharmacy mistake.

you got lucky. They may of been out of generic. Though unless a painkiller, or a Benzodiazepine you won't get much difference.
