How many request do you get from employees everytime it rains or gets cold asking if they can work from home using some lazy, bs excuse? Covid was the worst thing to ever happen to the American worker.

I purposely don’t respond until the morning of as I consider these request asinine. Since I get to work at 6:00am, I’m getting ready for my usual email response of, “Just got to the office. It didn’t seem like there were any issues on the road so you should be good. See ya soon!”

Roads still have water and potential flooding before noon today. Doesn’t seem like a big deal to me

They probably don’t want their F-150 to stall in the rain.

I work for a living. No such thing as work from home in my line of work. If you ask me, work from home should be discouraged by any company interested in having productive workers.

Sounds like a great idea until you have one of them involved in a serious incident. I wouldn’t be telling anyone the roads seemed fine.

You seem like an a-hole boss, so this isn’t really about the request

It’s a reflection of you as a poor leader

Remote working isn't the problem.

Lazy employees who take advantage of remote work situations to screw off and incompetent employers who don't have the backbone to discipline lazy employees and instead punishing that whole company workforce are the problem.

There are a multitude of resources and programs available to monitor and track remote production if one chooses to utilize them.

Trust me, your more responsible and dedicated employees would greatly respect and appreciate your acknowledging their hard work and dedication rather than your refuel to deal with problem employees and lumping everyone into the same category.

They'll start calling or texting me saying "they don't feel safe." It's the usual crew of pussies at my office that really don't want to work anyway. They also start hyping up storms before they hit to try and get the whole office riled up. I work at a Fortune 250, so it's nearly impossible to tell them to STFU without going to talk to HR, which is my least favorite activity.

If you’re not a boss worth my discretionary effort, I dont give a shite what you think.

I get some jobs can only be done in person. Having worked them, I get it.

That said, if you're hiring people that you don't trust to work from home I am not sure why you think they are more productive in the office.
