I have been looking at buying one of these for a while, but I have been reading mixed reviews. LG has one on the market $1500+ for the 2.0 cu, and $1700+ for the 4.3. Any of you have one of these?

It seems like a really good idea to wash and dry your clothes in the same machine.

Seems overpriced and more expensive to repair for not much more convenience.

Sounds dumb

Best washers and dryers are the old non HE ones. Find a used one on craiglist.

Bought top of the line LG combo two years ago. Would not recommend. Washer is total garbage.. Will buy Speed Queen next time.

Only buy as last resort..you are paying a huge premium because of minimal production/demand. You will normally need to split your wash load into two dry loads to allow sufficient air to circulate to dry clothe. The condensation dryer is ventless which adds a lot of time to dry. Figure about 5 hours to do a load start to finish..if you go this route, definitely do the larger capacity. A good option if you have limited space is the 24" stack combo...ge or whirlpool..

This is what I'm afraid of. We do pretty good with planning, and keeping our laundry maintained, but we do have a two year old and another baby on the way.

these are not popular for a reason. the ones I used in Europe didn't do either task too well.

We had a top of the line LG washer which CR had at number one in their list of HE machines. It was a piece of junk. It was always out of balance. These HE machines are crap allowing just a puddle of water. It a Speed Queen and never look back. Google Speed Queen vs Maytag video!!!!!!!!!

they work, but it can take a long time to dry your clothes. The heaters are 120V and use a lot less wattage than the average 240v electric dryer.

I see these a lot in the warehouse district and French Quarter, seems to be the norm in high end condos now. That or the POS GE laundrycenter.

You do not give your reasons for your interest in this type of machine.

If it is to save floor space, look into a stackable washer/dryer unit.

Depending on your response, I may have more suggestions.

Floor space was one consideration. I have an LG he set now that's <5 years old, but it takes up my entire laundry room.

You can buy stackable units. That way, you can be washing a load while one is drying.

Most stackable units are now all-in-one construction.

Years ago, I bought separate washer and dryer that fit into a metal framework. Don't know if these are still available.

Some of those units are real small. I had one years ago when I was single.

Some of those units are almost full sized.

I will link some below but first consider this. The dryer is light. Can you build a shelf above the washer to hold the dryer. It has to be high enough to open the washer top. It may be tight getting to the dryer controls. A step stool may be helpful.

That way you don't have to buy a new washer/dryer set.

Kenmore 81422 24" 1.5 cu. ft. Electric Laundry Center - White
$528.20
Small - good for a single person

Kenmore High Efficiency 27" Super Capacity 3.8 cu. ft. Electric Laundry Center - Metallic
$933.78 - $1,077.29
Almost full sized

Google Search

P.S. Not to get personal but do you have gas? Or electric....

If you are looking for storage space, maybe you could build something under the dryer to lift it up 2.5 ft or so to put clothes hampers under it. Then build shelves over the washer for detergent etc.

Think outside the box to maximize available space. And to save the most money, unless you are OT rich.
