Crazy how fast shite changes. I have a hard time thinking of Benning as home of the armor.

Its still weird to me.

I spent my last four years on strikers in an INF battalion.

I can't believe they did it. Imagine if they moved the University of Alabama to Auburn. That's what it's like.

I heard they even took most of the displays from the Patton Museum and shipped them down to Benning as well.

Haha. me too bro.

I've seen pictures recently of our old stomping grounds. About made me cry.

Were they still using the old WWII barracks for reception when you were there? I stayed there for almost two weeks in 88 because they messed up my orders and shipped me there a week early. I had to wait around in empty barracks doing shite details waiting on the rest of my group to show up.

If you ever watch the movie Stripes, the Barracks on that movie are those same Barracks. In fact most of that movie was filmed at Ft. Knox.

Its just not right. Ill tell you what, there was a culture clash having a platoon of armor soldiers inside an infantry company. We used to wear our tanker boots to piss them off. We had to do ALL the training for their EIB stuff. We had one shitty MCOFT at Lewis. Felt bad for the 19k private we were getting out of basic. Probably would never get to see time on an Abrams once they got that stryker identifier let alone never getting to tank tables and spur rides.

Is an occupation army considered the same as an army that fought against another nation?

I've heard the armyvis kind of cooking on the Stryker and realizing it sucks compared to the Abrams. That true?

I mean. I understand the need for combined arms battalion and company elements and I guess the MGS stryker variant fills an AT capacity at that level but its no tank and not a replacement for its capabilities.
