I have an interview with the #1 company in my business for my dream job. Getting this job will be life changing and the income potential is virtually unlimited and could set up my family for years to come.
I need to knock this interview out of the park and as part of my prep, I would like to hear your best tips or strategies to help me land this dream job.
Job is with a global commodities merchant.
TIA

For fricks sake wear a god damn suit. Dress for the job you want.
Know the background of the company and what they actually do.
Be charismatic but not fake.
Ask questions. It actually shows you're genuinely interested in the job.

Pull your cock out and lay it on the table. Don't budge until they hire you.

According to TV, you are supposed to make outrageous demands and then have a unicorn come crashing into the office. The unicorn part might actually work.

Don't try to be some fake version of yourself that you think they want. Just be yourself. They're people too, and most interviewers I've spoken with can tell the difference between someone on their best behavior and someone who is completely bullshiting them giving cliche answers because that's what the person thinks they want hear.
Oh, and as others have said, know enough about the company to be able to speak intelligently about it.

Research the company backwards and forwards. Have questions prepared for them about something industry related so that it shows you understand the business and can bring new ideas of how to do things to the table.
Pour over the job description and for every requirement, qualification, and responsibility, have an example of how your background fulfills it.

Be careful with this. Know who is interviewing you. This works for your future supervisor but can go horribly wrong with some HR flunkie that doesn't know the industry. If you stump them with some beautifully crafted question you will make them look dumb.

There are three secrets to nailing the job interview.
They are:
Unknown to me.

Take every aspect of the job responsibilities (as listed in the job posting) and have at least 1 specific example or anecdote from your experience that illustrates how you meet the criteria.
These can be used as transition points within the discussion as well.

Posture, Eye contact, Smile, Dress Good are really the only thing you can control.
Obviously you should do some preparation but at the end of the day they you just need to be what they are looking for.
