Compared to what they made before Putin, I would love him.

In 1998, Russia had a major financial crisis. They defaulted on their foreign debt and the Rouble completely collapsed. They pretty much went bankrupt.

Putin was elected in 2000. And he had a major economy reformation. Cut corporate profit tax from 35% to 24% and gave small business owners the option to take a 6% tax on gross revenue or a 15% tax on profits. He pretty much turned Russia from a major corporation driven economy into a middle class and small business driven economy. And biggest of all, personal income tax went from 30% to 13%. Russia now has the lowest taxes in Europe while achieving increases in Government revenue.

Under Putin
-Russian economy had made real gains of a 7% increase per year.
-Real wages have grown 12% per year
- Poverty rate went from 30% in 1998 to 11.2% (USA was 15% in 2013).
-Their unemployment rate was 13% in 1998, and is now 4.9% (the US is at 6.1%).
The industry grew by 75%, investments increased by 125%, and agricultural production and construction increased as well. -Real incomes more than doubled and the average salary increased eightfold.
-The volume of consumer credit between 2000–2006 increased 45 times,and during that same time period, the middle class grew from 8 million to 55 million, an increase of 7 times.
-The ruble has appreciated in value by 20%.
-In 2013 the World Bank recognized Russia an a High Income Economy
- 5th largest financial reserve in the World (US is 17th). Just 15years after an economical collapse
-In 2000, Russia's economy ranked 22nd in the world. Today, it is 6th.
- Inflation rate in 1998 was 84.5%. Inflation rate in 2013 for Russia was 6.48%.

Is he corrupt? Sure... but what politician isnt? And yes he has done some bad things in his life and as President of Russia. And I dont like the friends he keeps, mainly China and Iran. But, if he wasnt the President of Russia and was the leader of another country that didnt have the reputation and history of Russia, I dont think people would be all up in arms about him like they are.And Russia could do wayyyy worse than Putin as President.

I dont support Putin, but Im not anti-Putin like a lot of people are here. And most of those people dont know anything about Putin except that hes the Russian President.
