This is why you don't go to the quarter without a gun.

Where are these projects these days?

the situation like this one is the most common I think. Gun would make an enormous difference. I didn't report mine because my family and gf would make me quit, and I liked working in college. What good would it do anyway? they nailed me for $200 and left me with a nice shiner...blame it on the rain, exactly what I did.

I don't think a gun would do jack shite during the crowd shooting situations

Good general rule of thumb, but who is to say the victim wasn't walking home and new the city quite well.

I got robbed right out side the W hotel, lucky for me the jackass dropped my wallet when I chased them.

This shite happens far to often

This is one of the exact reasons it will never go away. These thugs know they will most likely never be reported, much less caught, so it's easy pickings. If word gets out that they are actually being busted for these crimes, they'll start to go away. But that involves a lot of work for all involved, both citizens and police. But it won't start until we decide it does.

This didn't happen because people don't care. That's horribly idiotic

Yeah, I never quite understand this argument.

I care about my kids and see to it that they are very unlikely to ever end up doing anything like this.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to be doing to "care" about the degenerates who are doing this and allowing their kids to do this. I would love somebody to articulate how I could "care" about it, such that I would be able to make it stop. I'd readily give it a shot, if someone would.

There's a good chance he was. Still not ideal to be alone that late. I understand sometimes shite happens.

If I see myself being tailed, or someone I don't trust walking towards me, I'm not afraid to brandish or put a laser on someone's chest in a situation like that.

The quarter could use a few more shootings/assaults IMO, just with different victims.

it was literally just behind this camera I got nailed.

I'm a paranoid person, saw it coming a mile away. What's to report though?

2 black males in their teens, both average height and build...that doesn't really narrow it down. my car was across rampart. I got the frick out of there and was happy to be alive

at 13 seconds in the video is where he should have took off running. which is why I think he may have drunk…he almost voluntarily walked back into the danger zone but had he just sprinted 20 yards to bourbon st. he would have been safe.

Maybe someone saw something, maybe something could be done. Maybe not, but we know for sure that doing nothing will change nothing.

But you don't care, you left and will now just say that's the way it is. No skin off your back.

The guy could have ran. They won't shoot you because you ran away from their robbery attempt. They are dumb but not that dumb. Not with cars passing by like that .

They shoot people over beefs. Turf wars, drugs, fights. Etc

Ray Liuzza Jr would like to have a word with you if he was still alive.

NOPD should take some of the young white boys with simple weed possession charges and use them as bait in exchange for dropping their charge/lighter sentence. Have them walk around from 2am-4am and have African American plain clothed detectives sitting in tinted windowed unmarked cars with long range taser guns. After a few busts the word would get out and the thugs wouldn't risk it. I would do it

But that is exactly what New Orleans advertises. Come here and party all night into the morning and drink anywhere. You think the police would make protecting the French Quarter a priority.

Actually I had a guy point a revolver at me outside of the boot, wanksta chalmation...cops didn't believe me or my friend...and they were dicks

I've seen some nasty shite from NOPD, you think I'm wasting my time with that shite
