When done in conjunction with the other things that have to done when a performance cam is installed, it will make it haul arse.

Mild cam = slight lope at idle, power pushed to higher RPM range

Same here. My eldest brother was somewhat of a hotrodder back in the mid 70's. He had a 74 camaro rs that he would race at LaPlace dragway on the weekends. My uncle had a chevy dealer in Gramercy so he had access to his best tech and installed a high performance cam in is car and they tuned it so as it wasn't supposed to be noticed before the race.
He made a little money that weekend.
Friggin govt ruined all this fun.
