I guarantee you, 8 CPAs, or 8 doctors, or 8 lawyers, etc etc could have handled this situation without anyone facing major injury. To be honest, Cops are often the worst at handling situations like these

Or why didnt they just let the dog go to work and subdue the guy and they could cuff him then?

because cops have become animals who LOVE this sort of thing...there are a hundred ways of resolving this, but do you really think they're going to let this opportunity go by without 'discharging their duty weapon'?

they WANT to shoot to their guns, how can ANYONE not see the insanity of this particular situation and cops in general?

what makes this matter even worse is the fact that none of them were prosecuted.

For frick sakes,it's right there, plain as day on video for the world to see now.
Someone wil have to pay for this incident. You watch, you think civil unrest was bad in Ferguson? Let this video go viral and see.

I am ok with civil unrest over this. But it should be from all races alike, and it should not involve any crime or looting

Interesting that the link you have shows training where the cop doesn't have his gun drawn and trained on the perp. The "officer" is also wearing gym shorts with a gun tucked into them. He's not wearing a holster which makes it infinitely easier to draw a weapon.

That video is a bad analog for this situation.

In February, the Department of Justice said it could not find “sufficient evidence of willful misconduct” to prosecute the eight officers.

To me, this is the most worrying thing of all. If this isn't considered "willful misconduct", then what the hell is?

Until we stop having cops investigate other cops for these kind of things, this kind of shite is going to keep on happening.

yep. This is a bad precedent that undoubtedly is something that goes on in most departments.

Where in the hell were the riots for this? This, if anything is riot worthy.

sickening that cops have become such animals...what the hell has happened to this country?

Don't kid yourself, pigs have been doing this for decades. Now they just have the inconvenience of their violent ways being recorded.

Excellent training video of how not to handle that situation.

With 8 officers, a dog, and no gun in the suspects hand there were a multitude of less than lethal options at the officers disposal.

Where was the fricking taser? They use that with quickness at every other opportunity.

Very poor police work and compelling evidence for murder or manslaughter charges for all of the officer.

I'm shocked the DA didn't pursue that.

[quote]American political commentator Randy short said Washington’s population policy for African-Americans involves mass abortion, mass incarceration and an “incremental genocide” by the police.

Well there's this explanation.

They were all probably pretty jacked up about the situation and the adrenaline was pumping. One cop shoots, scares them, and they all shoot. Exactly what you're not supposed to do

You can pretty easily hear that the guy is retarded in the second video posted

I'd like to know the legality of defending someone like that with deadly force against cops that are shooting them. I mean, if they are just mowing down an innocent guy, is there a reason that I couldn't shoot them to defend the guy's life? I can do that against a non-cop to protect someone's life, why not against a cop? Obviously that would be a stupid decision, but would someone be convicted if they did so?

If there weren't black cops involved, they would have.

I'm pretty sure it's legal if they shout out "it's coming right for us!"

That was fricking disturbing. If they were going to apprehend the guy after he didn't do what they said, they should have either

a) used a taser on him
or
b) send the dog in after him
