Evil Little Thing do you think it would really be that much of a turnoff to women, even those who also are not interested in having children?

If I was 21 and saying I didn't want to have kids that's one thing, but I'm 32, I do feel like I know myself pretty well now and won't change. If something crazy did happen though it's not like I'd be out of luck, adoption is always still an option.

Heck for me I guess it is partially political, our world is so overpopulated it's crazy, I feel like we need more people like me who want to be part of the solution, not the problem.

If you do it, go deposit some sperm like someone said before. At least then you'll potentially have options if you change your mind later.

It wouldn't have been an issue for me, because I could be happy either way. My ex-H & I decided not to have kids, and I was happy with my decision in that relationship. But the biological clock thing is real, and something about turning 34 made me (and several friends) suddenly start freaking out about having children. Probably because the window of opportunity is closing.

I think a woman who already has kids would be happy you're sterile. But I'm not sure single moms are the demographic you want if you want to be childfree.

Make a sperm bank donation at least. You might change your mind about kids. I was the same way until I met my wife. I am glad I was wrong because I love my kids.

Yes. They can use potential liability as an excuse. People in your situation might change their mind and sue them later.

Problem numero uno. You haven't had secks in 2 yrs? Even with a rubber? Fak bro. You sound like you have some deep rooted anxiety problems.

If you are dating women younger than 30 and they dont have a child they probably want a kid so dont expect anything serious with them except for secks and even then that wont last long once they find out there is no long term prospects with you.

Also, you can donate sperm or you could always get it reversed. Although im pretty sure insurance does not cover this and it will cost you upward of 10k.

At a cost of $10k or more out of pocket and still not guaranteed to work.

There are certain vasectomies that are pretty easily reversible. I'd look into those, don't just go for the permanent one. And freeze some of the troops anyway just in case

You could always go gay. That would work just as well.

Lawsuits regarding the ability to produce children are pretty serious. I've seen some where a car accident or work injury left the injured unable to reproduce and the settlements are huge.

If I was a doctor, I would be hesitant, especially with how people think reversals are easy and pretty much guaranteed. Friend of mine had a reversal after thinking he would be good with two kids. Said it was 10x more painful than the vasectomy and recovery was a lot longer. He only had a 50/50 chance of success because of how long it was between the vasectomy and reversal. It did work out for him though.

My buddy was like mid 30s when this happened. Apparently they pulled too hard when they were cutting open his wiener

More good replies, thanks again. I've seen several of you mention having sperm frozen before the procedure, in case I change my mind (which I'm confident I won't but an option to consider). I am not against doing that, but what are the costs associated with it? I've heard that can be very expensive.

Jerk off into ice tray, put in freezer. Shouldn't add much to your electric bill

Liuyaming do you think some doctors would elect not to do the procedure on me simply due to my age? What do you think I should do to overcome any kind of possible objection by the doctor based on age?

Dewit. I know a guy that had his reversed (late marriage) and had a kid. If you don't want the responsibility of caring for a child, this is a great idea. I had one 6 months ago and it was a breeze. No pain during the procedure, and just sore for the following few days. Didn't even ice my boys.
