Seems like someone either told me or showed me a picture of McConaughey at a Zachary HS baseball game around the mid/late 00s. Maybe I read it here. Does this ring a bell to anyone?

He used to own land out that way, but for some reason I think he sold it.

His friend lived up there. McConaughey always had some big arse RV parked on his friends property and stayed there a lot.

His manager or someone like that used to live in Fennwood, I know because my wife grew up down the street from him. He would sometimes stay in his Airstream in Zachary.

I lived across the street from where he stayed; it was never a big arse rv.. it was an airstream.

He and Penelope Cruz were shacked up in a house in Zachary around 2004 while one of them was filming a movie in the area.

Ah, gotcha. When it was pointed out to me it was a big motorhome. Maybe that was his friends or maybe the wrong house.

He stayed with a family there in Zachary for a few weeks when he was helping with Katrina efforts

He was on Jay Leno shortly after Katrina and gave a shout out to the town of Zachary and said it’s “full of the nicest people he had ever met”

He was selling concessions at the Saints-Dolphins game held at Tiger Stadium.

Probably because of who’s moving into the area.

Bet he wouldn’t say that about Zachary today.

Correct. He would show up in the area fairly often

Played golf at the bluffs with him.

Weirdest day ever.

We were a three and the pro asked if we were cool with a fourth.

He was exactly like you would expect.

McConaughey had a friend from Zachary , La- an older guy named Jon Chaney (Cheney?)- who was like a second father to MM after his father died.. i once hung out with him (the friend , not MM) and watched an LSU football game on the tv.. he had lots of stories about being on the road with MM and being his perosnal assistant, as well as a father figure.. im fairly certain he only told me a fraction of what he was allowed to say, but he was a good old dude .. Not sure if he’s still around .

He lived next to a friend in the movie industry. Parked his Airstream next to the house in a then vacant lot next to Mr. Chaney as described.
