Looking for ideas for a vacation that would be possible to take my 1 year old son with us. Would be a November-December timeline. Already doing the beach thing with family during the summer. Looking for an interesting city to visit that wouldn't be to harsh of a winter to tote the kid around, but still be interesting. Any ideas? Can't really go until the end of the year due to projects at work. Travelling from Houston and willing to go anywhere that's comfortable to travel with a 1 year old.

If you are taking a child that can't wipe its own arse, it's not a vacation.

If you can fly direct to San Diego it might not be bad. We took our girl at 18 months. The zoo, beach, and the Sesame Street park in sea world were great. It is pretty inexpensive if you stay on hotel circle. The weather is nice there then as well.

He's stayed with the grandparents for the weekend when we had things to do, but we haven't been away from him on a trip like I'm envisioning. Seems a little weird to leave him behind and go enjoy ourselves. He really isn't that awful to take in public. He's a pretty good baby. He would just cut into our sleeping in time.

this. Its not a vacation anyone will enjoy. Your kid won't remember it and you'll be lugging things around. We went to korea when my son was 3 and my daughter was 11 months. Not enjoyable.

I try to avoid long flights....I did take my daughter to Hawaii at 2. It was a blast. Very enjoyable vacation but the flight back was rough.

Seems weird to get away with just you and the wife?? I think it's stranger to tote an infant around on vacation if you don't have to.

Try an all inclusive resort in Mexico or the carribean. They may have nannys in staff.

We are going to Hawaii in August and bringing our son who will be 15 months. That's probably legit that time of year. The beach and pool are real fun when they are that age.
