Drugs, theft, and intentionally falisifying documentation (which is hard to prove) are the only ones I have seen.

Lazy, dangerous, asshat....job for life with Union backing

I'm an operator at a non-Union and to witness the total cluster frick that is this strike only further reinforces my decision to stay at my site. Especially since it has gone on so long that any negotiated pay raises are now null and void.

Maybe it's because I'm a younger person, but I would be crossing that line with a smile on my face. My family comes way before any Union brother or sister.

Last week I did. What's the said letter about?
Mine was just about the cancellation if our benefits and such.

This is separate, one page front and back basically saying everything that shell has offered and the union shot down.

More information than what I get from the union I tell you that much.

It might be in my mailbox but I'm making a little side money right now. Ill check when I get back to the house. I did read something that the President/CEO of Motiva in so many words was encouraging its employees to return to work.

There is a list of "Scabs" that's only about 20 names

You have to be kidding me? These people are scabs because they are fed up with playing the union's games and want to go back to WORK to support their families? How can the other union members stand being around a sign listing their co-workers as scabs? No way I would just turn a blind eye to that. I would either tear it down or cross the line, one of the two.

Talked to one of the new hires the other day, they don't even have the option to cross, their preop is suspended until this is resolved and I blame Shell for that. Shell knew the contract was coming up they should have suspended the start date until the negotiations were finished. Bad planning on their part IMO.

I heard that list has made it's way to HR.
I agree with what you say. They are your coworker/friend one moment but you make a decision to return to work and support your family, they all hope you burn in hell.

Yea I'm not sure if that was smart of Shell or not. On one hand they are saving money not giving them the option to come back to work, on the other I'm sure they need the worker (one would hope).

Well if they would have just suspended it until a few weeks after the negotiations all those guys are working for other companies anyway so shell isn't paying them at all. It would have looked better on Shell's part IMO to either suspend the preop or let those guys continue preop during the strike.

I agree. That's shite.

Just got a call from a podnah at Marathon. They have opened hiring up to Ops because of the strike. Can apply this week, but not sure when the start date is. Can't be too soon.

I believe Shell Geismar(non union) will be hiring operators at the end of this year as well.

This is what the fear of Shell should be. Plenty of companies could step up and get some really good experienced operators. Hiring process doesn't take that long.

That's what everyone is pissed about. The little info u do get from the union is all lies. Most of the time it's just an I don't know. Pure bullshite.

Union brother one day, a scab and a rat the next day when someone makes a decision to support their families. What kind of people who do that to someone else. Nothing but a piss poor sack of shite.
