Do you have any idea how much good coke was floating around Houston in 1980?

Yea but back then you could get SERIOUS prison time for even DOING coke at a party, much less possessing a gram. You could legit get arrested AND prosecuted if a person was willing to testify that they saw you simply DOING cocaine. That is insane to imagine today but it really happened. It's crazy how hard the government cracked down on cocaine while secretly saturating the country with it.

Aaron Latham's journal he kept during the production was so fricking awesome to read. It was available on his blog back in 03-05. But it's been scrubbed from the internet for a decade now because it details how Travolta would seduce male prod assistants with cocaine and promises.

Dude read the article I linked. I could kick myself for not saving the Text Files I saved of the Journal/Blog. It was laid out in several 'pages' of LONG scrolling text. I didn't want to look like I was playing on the internet all day at work so I went to Latham's blog and copy and pasted all the text to text files.
I can't find this shite online ANYWHERE now. He wrote in the journal EVERY day of production.

Among Latham’s papers are extensive materials relating to “Urban Cowboy,” including drafts, notes and research materials for his Esquire article, the film and the Broadway musical. Included is Latham’s extensive and detailed journal documenting the movie from the writing of the screenplay to actors’ screen tests to filming. The journal fills five notebooks and hundreds of pages, providing a nearly daily account of the creation of the film from Nov. 27, 1978, to Nov. 25, 1979.

You gotta watch the movie at least 7 times to really appreciate Pam. She was not a malicious person. She was rich and sheltered for sure. But she was genuinely enamored by this Cowboy Culture and wanted to be a part of it but didn't know how to gain acceptance.
And there's absolutely no reason to believe she wouldn't have made a good wife.
In fact, her blase demeanor towards the end "but if you ever want to make her jealous; you know where to find me." See this was really an act. Pam was doing her best to make Bud feel like he was making the right decision by making HERSELF look like a floozie whore. That was selfless as frick as Pam was truly heartbroken and wanted a love like Bud and Sissy had.
What Pam did in that scene was much like Robert Redford's character in Indecent Proposal when he makes Demi Moore's character feel like he was using her and it was all a game. He hid his true feelings for her to make her decision easier to go back to Woody.
Urban Cowboy is the best movie ever made.

In my personal Urban Cowboy Expanded Universe, I figure he finally got it right when he married Wife #3 sometime around 1994.
I know a lot of old 'Bud's. Hate to break it to you but I'd bet wife #3 didn't last either.
Pam ended up in Katy and has grandkids now. Probably one divorce in the late 80's.

She's got her daddy's money
Her mama's good looks
More laughs than a stack of comic books
A wild imagination
A college education
Add it all up it's a deadly combination
She's a good bass fisher
A dynamite kisser
Country as a turnip green
