The main ceremony is at 8AM. Nobody that I know is even going.
Though I was wondering why they hadn't really announced the speaker. I guess the answer was that they didn't have a real speaker.

You should've just said that you were mad about F King being the speaker. Using Finebaum in your post makes it look like LSU made a good decision with F King.

This just shows how completely out of touch this guy is with reality. If his motivation was not paying someone, then get a local business leader or even a popular professor. Hell, some of the Poli Sci profs and/or Law School geezers are hilarious. But to put himself up there is such an arse move it boggles the mind. If he uses the platform to bitch and moan about funding he should be fired the next day. This is supposed to be a celebration of achievement and not a discussion of the institutions issues.

mine was a summer graduation...hot as a frickhouse in the PMAC. our speaker was some random Episcopal priest who literally spoke 5 mins, much to our delight. then they had each college stand up one by one, conferred the degrees en masse to each college, and said "your diplomas are up front in alphabetical order, stand in the appropriate line and we'll hand them to you. dismissed." the entire ceremony lasted less than 30 mins.
all in all, it was the best graduation experience ever.

I had the best graduation ever (Fall 1989):
No guest speaker
No walking across stage (just stood up when our college was called.)
