Homeowners but you would be on the hook for the actual repairs to the pipes. Homeowners would cover any subsequent water damage to the house.

From Katrina I remember flood covers waters that rise, or something similar.

So flood won’t cover burst pipes.

Homeowners...but is there any damage besides just a small section of exposed pipe outside that busted? If that's the only damage then its probably not worth filing a claim by time you factor in your deductible.

No visable damage right now because the pipes are still frozen. Only a small section under the house is exposed and frozen. Not even sure if there’s going to be any damage once they thaw but that’s not looking like it’s going to happen until tomorrow.

I don’t have a garage. It was closed in years ago and made into a sun/poolroom.

You're going to get hit with emergency rates for plumbers. They're going to be very busy down there.

If you play your cards right and don't mind doing a little work yourself ... you can pay your deductible ... and end up with some nice home upgrades or get some of your deductible back.

That's what a friend told me, anyway.

This. Homeowners will cover water damage, but not from flood waters. Ask me how I know this.......

Turn faucet on and use a hair dryer to try to warm up the exposed pipe to get it to thaw

I’ve already spoken to my plumber, he won’t hit me to hard if he has to come out.

He said his problem right now is getting his guys to come to work because so many of them live outside the city and they can’t get in.
