He must've gotten fired from a Rally's in New Orleans or something...he's a little over the top with the hate.

I've got two girls and there is no way in hell I'd have them walking alone in the quarter any time of day. What were the parents thinking? One or two blocks off Bourbon and it's ghetto.

Royal or dumaine are ghetto?

Day time inthe quarter tends not to be that risky a situation if you are familiar. I wouldn't send my kid out as a tourist there, but living/working it's an easy area to navigate and there's a pretty large and loyal network of FQ employees/residents that look out for each other (or a daughter walking a few blocks from bus stop to dads work on the regular)

OK, this girl is only 12 years old? She is expected to take a bus from school to meet her father in French Quarter at his job? WTF??? 12 years old. Not at all acceptable!!!

Kids that age routinely take RTA to and from school.

Yep. It's a city thing that some folks don't understand.
Mom and dad work and can't drive the kids around all day. The schools have limited bus service to certain areas so it's not unusual at all to see large groups of middle school and high school kids getting on the RTA to all parts of the city going to and from school.

I don't think I would let a 12 year old do it, but that's just me. And she wasn't in a ghetto either.

kids are bussed all over the city every school day, chill. There is an elementary school just a few blocks away from this as is.

Just prayed for her, God protect her, save her, and strike down anyone intending to harm her.

Walking from a bus stop in broad daylight a few blocks is a bit different than just wandering around the city haphazardly.

I would bet several hundreds 12yo do this every weekday in the city.

I hope this story ends well.

Interesting she's checking her phone out before she jumps to the sidewalk and then walking much slower...

Don't like the fact the guy walking on the other sidewalk is the only other person in the video with his head down the whole time and jumps across the street ahead of her.

To be that close to her destination and the amount of traffic/ people in the area and no one seeing anything suspicious of a surprise abduction would be surprising unless she knew the person she disappeared with.

I agree, I am near the top of hate of New Orleans. It's a shithole and crumbling. There is nothing good about it anymore.
Now, on to Bourbon, not only would I NEVER let a 12 yr old walk there alone, I wouldn't walk down bourbon with my kids at any time, ever.
It's simply the trashiest place I can think of that's is adored by the "culture" loving idiots. Seriously, tell me one place in the US that is considered a tourist destination that is more run down, stinky, filthy, and more dangerous.

Not only is it a perfect trap for criminals, their breeding ground is literally a block away.

The rest of the city is a democratic rundown crumbling wasteland. The only thing holding it together is the stolen FEMA 2 billion that was used to rebuild it's underground water system, which BTW, FEMA is suing to get that money back because the system was shitty before Katrina and shouldn't fall on FEMA s dime.

Sure, there are some fantastic places in New Orleans that we all adore and the world loves. And it's great to visit about every other year while praying you don't get mugged or make a wrong turn.
I don't know where this guy works. But to not take 5 minutes to go meet your daughter at a bus stop and not have her walk alone on the worst street in LA, is a crime all on its own!

What are some of the great attractions and restaurants a person like you enjoys in Nola?
Just curious also if you've ever been to Nola and done stuff other than stumble up and down Bourbon.

what is the worst street?

You realize she was no where near the first 8 blocks of bourbon street that you are trying to describe here?

You're really uninformed

Some people think Nola is 98% black and all on welfare and the whole city consists of Bourbon street and housing projects.
LOL

Some people still think half the city is still flooded 12 years after Katrina.

Then there are the people who think the only street in nola is Bourbon St and the only high rise building in the Superdome.

No doubt. I would say the downriver lakeside quadrant of the quarter is 95% residential. Good people. Several years ago I lived on the 1200 block of bourbon and it wasn't much different than living in the channel.

No shite!!

At least my kids take Uber when we can’t get them to and from places.

I would never let them or ask them to take public transportation in nola.

Why not? One of my kids has been walking home from school since he was in 6th grade.
