Yep, if I'm the loan company that was defrauded I'm really pissed off. Although they should be able to sue and recoup something you would think (unless they are upside down in all of those so called assets).

Even so, fine the bejesus out of them and make them sell assets to satisfy as much of it as they can

The bank fricked up and we have to pay for it not the people who robbed them

Basically, violent people belong in prison. Martha Stewart doesn't

Injuring over 30 people with your vehicle while shitfaced counts as violent, wouldn't you say?

Yes that's a threat to public safety. He needs to go to prison until he's not...which isn't fricking forever

No. The brother of the girl killed in the Lamborghini crash was one of those hurt in this accident.

I don't want to be standing anywhere near this poor family because they clearly have some bad juju surrounding them.

Go spend one fricking day in prison and get back to me. 10 years is a long time and even longer in a Louisiana prison

That's not my problem. I didn't get hammered, get behind the wheel and injury a busload of people.

And BTW his crime doesn't indicate that he's violent

It indicates that he's a moron and a jerkoff. If he killed someone or seriously maimed them...yeah throw away the key, but that didn't happen. In fact does anyone know how fast this guy was going. It must've been drive thru restaurant speed because it's unbelievable no one is dead.

It does actually. Not violet in the ghetto trash way that you seem to only be concerned with, but now the less a threat to society. If you're irresponsible enough to get behind the wheel while that intoxicated, you are most certainly a threat to society.

And when you are no longer a threat and actually harm society, you officially have no leg to stand on.

You can be a non violent person and a threat to public safety. You live in a world without nuance but really I just suspect you're being emotional for whatever reason and not because you give a shite about the people who were hurt

You're being absolutely ridiculous in this thread. I guess since all he did was drive drunk we should just let him off with a pretrial diversion, since you know, it was his first one and no one was killed. He's not a violent guy.

ETA: Nuance would be if we were arguing over "what if" he hit 30 people. But that's not what we're arguing. He actually did it.

I think he should do quite a few fricking years actually at least 5. You act like that's not serious time.

It's relevant the extent to which they were injured. It's relevant that no one died. I'm not one of the "drunk driving ain't no thang" people.

If he only injured one person, sure. But he didn't only injure one person.

You're ignoring how many people this jerk off needlessly injured.

Whether he does 5 years or 15 years, it doesn't matter. This jackoff's life is all but over. Because of a half dozen drinks too many one night.
