Frisco’s latest development project will bring a huge cast of superheroes, television stars and motion picture greats to Collin County. Universal Parks & Resorts — the theme park arm of entertainment giant NBCUniversal — has bought a site on the Dallas North Tollway for a new kids-themed park and hotel. The almost 100-acre planned entertainment hub will be located on the Dallas North Tollway in the $10 billion Fields development.

Something to compete with Great Wolf Lodge?

The project will be designed to appeal to families, with immersive experiences making it a one- to two-day destination, said Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO of Universal Parks and Resorts. The park will include four or five Universal-themed interactive experiences as well as a 300-room hotel.

Great addition, but good god that area is growing fast.

Jerry owns all that land around 380 and the tollway and there is a massive development about to start. Not to mention PGA headquarters relocating to Frisco

I passed the Star the other day and there were 4 massive cranes around it and development everywhere.

They better start widening the Tollway to 16 lanes

DFW has basically become a low COL LA with low taxes but none of the outdoor opportunities

I approve. It is closer than Orlando to bring the grandkids.

The Dallas sprawl continues. How long until they get an airport out towards Frisco/McKinney

At least they have two viable airports in Love and DFW.

Atlanta still has only one airport and the growth of the northern suburbs is still very strong.

Some of those northern suburbs are easily well over an hour to ATL airport.

True, but Love isn't easy to get to from up there. At least DFW is only 30-45 minutes with no traffic. It's crazy seeing how much that part of the metroplex is growing. 75 is basically developed all the way up until the OK border
