Mostly touch football game out in the field, with barbed wire and copies part of the field of play.
Visitors were invited and encouraged to participate, and I don't remember the weather cancelling a game.

Do you also have to fight with your father after dinner?

I don't know. I lost my train of thought.

bro-in-law is from WAY down the bayou. we get the family on the phone that had the misfortune of moving to the East Coast and he reads The Cajun Night Before Christmas in full regalia. Hell, even the older kids that are attending Yankee colleges love it and look forward to it every year.

2nd year into a new tradition where we have a party for my daughter(she’s 9) and her friends and their families. I sit in the middle of the den and read it for them. I’m from Morgan City and can turn it back on for the reading.

oh boy. Not even taking Christmas Eve off as trying to be “that guy”

If you can’t have a holiday drink w your family without getting drunk, it says more about you.

Sounds like a great way to laugh, enjoy each others company and share a e cocktail.

In my family we don't need a drink to enjoy each other's company, much less "Mom broke out a fifth of cheap whiskey".

Christmas bingo. All the family comes over and everyone brings a couple of gifts. Usually gag gifts but some good stuff is mixed in there as well. Sit around and play bingo for the prizes.
