Crash.

Ambulance ride and ER visit = $ 15K

Louisiana minimum limits are $15K ...lowest in country. That is IF the jackass who hit you even has coverage. UM covers your arse in this situation and it is cheap. Foolish to not have it.

Ironically, in Louisiana the minimum coverage for property damage is $25K.....thus telling you that our legislature values your freakin car more than it values you.

That's because cars actually do get damaged in wrecks.

When your vehicle is involved in a hit and run or an accident with someone lacking vehicle insurance, you're going to wish you had it. You might be out your deductible, but it could be the difference between $1000 or $5500.

It means legislators carry UM.

I was referring to simply damage to your vehicle, a very lowball estimate.

But you're correct. It could reach into six or seven figures.

You're mixing coverages here.

Surely you will communicate all offers to your client?

None of the cases I have dealt with involved minimum. Generally, those people can't respond to an excess anyway.

Let some broke fricker wreck your shite and frick you up and you will be singing a different tune. It's not just uninsured these days it's under insured as well. Most drivers carry the minimum.

Full coverage actually means you $0 deductibles for comp and collision, i.e. you are fully covered for any damages. Now it just means you have comp and collision no matter what your deductibles may be.

ETA I dont believe these are even offered anymore. I've seen a few older folks with actual full coverage, but not many.

No, I was referring to repair costs actually.

GF's truck was involved in a hit and run a few months ago and it ran her about $4500 in damages, she was out her $1000 deductible.

But it won't cover lost wages, future medical incurred after you lose health insurance and all the shite you go through because some idiot can't obey safe driving rules
