Spokane, Wa
Coeur D'alene, ID

Both decent towns, fit the criteria for outdoors/running, only downside is 6 months of winter. I lived in Spokane and worked in CdA for a year and thought the people were friendly and the outdoors/nature was top notch. Would recommend both.

I'd throw Missoula, Jackson Hole, Boulder, Durango, Flagstaff, and Boise on the list too. Mostly small to medium sized towns, great outdoors opportunities, running, hippie culture that spawns food trucks. Only visited these towns but would live in any of them if the opportunity presented itself.

Scottsdale, AZ at #40

Scottsdale Arizona

With a rugged appeal and cosmopolitan feel, Scottsdale offers many things to its residents, including opportunities to explore the Sonoran Desert, play on more than 200 area golf courses or dance the night away in some of the hottest nightclubs in the west. Relax at one of the many spas Scottsdale offers. While tourism plays a major role in Scottsdale’s economy, the city’s top employers include Honor Health, General Dynamics and a branch of the Mayo Clinic.

Austin and my birthplace (born in 1962) Ville Platte. The last time I visited was in 1983. It was still like I remember it.

I hear now, it sucks. Is that true?

Ville Platte always had some hot ladies when I went there. Haven't been back in 20 years though that might have changed.

With that being said what are some of the most underrated places in America for someone in their mid-late 20s to live?

Not too big, but not too small. I'm an avid runner/outdoors guy so that's preferred. And a big fan of an awesome local food scene. Would be nice to be somewhere that sports are tied into the culture as well.

You're pretty close right now actually. St. Louis or KC would fit that criteria.

I've heard a lot about Boise and some of the places in Montana.

I'm about to head to San Diego to work for a month so looking forward to that.

Also I've seen a lot of mentions about Fort Worth currently....assuming it's really on the comeup?

Wow. My wife's GParents live there. They got that gas station, with the ice cream. That's about it. Man they love driving to Winnfield though.

Eta: Just checked out that livability list. Colorado well represented up in there.

Went to San Diego a lot my dad lived in Palm desert for 8 years. I couldn't afford to stay out there though. Beautiful beaches, weather, and women that is a good big 3.

Yep, the culcha is getting real there. People are finally changing which is a bad thing IMO. I see the new generation losing interest in what made VP VP. Was never much there but good people, good times, and a very strong Cajun culture. Unfortunately, I see it going the way of its neighbor Opelousas, strait down the drain.
