There are four levels of damage, according to Uber:
1. Damage that requires vacuuming or simple cleaning: $25
2. Vomit on the outside of the car or alcohol inside the car: $50
3. Major spills, food mess, vomit inside the car: $100
4. Bodily fluids (Urine, vomit, blood) inside the car or mess that requires cleaning between the window and door (looking at you glitter): $200

I had an uber driver pick me up last saturday and anything I would have spilled would have made the car cleaner. It was the most disgusting car I have ever been in.

Speaking of, I need to email the dude at the bike shop today about him ordering me some new tires for my fixie.
Bike is tGOAT transportation for Mardi Gras.
Just have to get a soft ice chest that you can strap to your back and you're golden

there be will cars operating inside the box and outside the box, respectively.
What's the box? That means anywhere from St. Charles Avenue to the Mississippi River, and Napoleon Avenue to Canal Street.
So, if you're inside 'the box' and want to stay inside 'the box' you have to choose 'the box' on your Uber app.
Here's the breakdown from Uber:
“The Box”
t’s not about where you are, but where you’re going! When leaving the parades, road closures will make it difficult for driver partners to cross St Charles Ave to get you to your end destination. Follow these tips to make sure you don’t get stuck on the wrong side.
Want to head somewhere “in the box”? Request in the box. Sample end destinations: Canal St below Rampart, CBD, Lower Garden District
For end destinations outside of the box, head outside of the box to request. Sample End Destinations: French Quarter, Uptown University Area, Bywater, Mid-City, anywhere else!
PRO TIP: Head a few blocks away from St Charles Ave before requesting.

How do you park your bike and walk away from it without worrying about it getting stolen?
I know you can obviously chain it but that'll only stop an honest their from stealing it

luckily we just have to walk from the hotel to the convention center and back. How much is the surge usually running?

Surge pricing will be x3, x4, or x5 I wouldn't doubt
What hotel y'all staying in?

Does the driver specify the level of charges? I see a ton of "major spill" charges

No one is going around during Mardi Gras with so many people around and using a cutting torch to steal bikes.... I'm sure they would be better served doing it on regular weekends if that was their fancy

The driver takes a photo of the damage and sends it to uber through the app.
